Frequently asked questions
Do I only need one trademark class?
Not always. Many businesses sell products in one class and offer services in another. A careful filing strategy often covers more than one class.
Is choosing the class enough on its own?
No. The specification wording also matters. A class number does not automatically protect everything in that class.
What if I choose the wrong class?
You may need to refile, pay extra fees, or end up with weaker protection than expected. That is why class strategy should be checked before submission.
